    My first time.

On a Friday, I called before I drove and picked up my order. I had my I-phone map to get to this place, there's no sign on the Mason of where to turn so it can be easily missed, if you're not from the area.

Upon arriving, I walked to the back at the bar area and asked for my pick up order. My order consisted of a Whole Chicken- half Original / half Sweet and Spicy and two orders of Rice ($2 each).  I asked for the complimentary radish and asked for kimchi which is $2.

Once I got home, I took a bit of the chicken and surprisingly the chicken is still crispy and warm. The Sweet and Spicy is very delicious and the Original fried was also good with kimchi and rice.

I'm very satisfied of finding this place, definitely will bring my friends to try this place out.

I've actually heard a lot of things about Hoodadak. Mostly I've heard good things. One of my friends told me this was "the best Korean fried chicken place ever". Coming in, I had a lot of expectations. In the end, they were half met. There seating arrangement was cool in a way. They have like small private booths for their customers. However, the spacing is kind of off. The table is kind of far from the seats, and we had to lean a little forward. They also had call buttons at each table to you get optimum service.

    We ordered:

Waffle Fries w Kimchi and Bulgogi - 4/5
The best waffle fries hands down. They were all so crispy and not soggy! The bulgogi was well done and soft. It was alright in my opinion. It was kind of sour which I can pin point is the kimchi. I also think that there's too much siracha. Overall this was a good appetizer and I would get it again for the waffle fries only.

Large Popcorn Chicken in Sweet and Spicy (3/5) and Soy Garlic (3/5) -
The chicken was cooked really dry. Maybe if I have gotten actual wings then it would have tasted more moist and less dry. It wasn't even crispy. I liked soy garlic more than sweet and spicy. It's a classic sauce that anyone should get when eating korean fried chicken. However, there was barely any taste of sauce. It would have been better if it had a little bit more sauce. sweet and spicy was alright. This one did have more sauce, but it just didn't go up my alley. My family members did like this sauce better than soy garlic. Overall, I was disappointed, but maybe it's because I ordered popcorn chicken instead of wings. So next time, I'm gonna order wings!

After coming back numerous times after my initial review, Hoodadak is definitely one of the top places that serves Korean fried chicken in Houston imo. My go-to is their spicy hot and sweet & spicy but their soy garlic is pretty tasty as well if you're not a fan of spicy foods. The honey one is a bit too sweet for my preference as I am generally a fan of honey garlic. The wings are made perfectly as it has the perfect amount of crunch and juiciness to it.

They are generous with their fries and I personally enjoy the regular fries over the spicy fries. The spicy fries are pretty good if your spice tolerance is high as the heat increases with how hot the fries are in general (temperature wise) along with the chicken.

Definitely glad that I tried it a couple more times after it initially opened as I find myself craving it now. Also if you're craving dessert, you can always walk right over to Cocohodo to grab some ice cream or a sweet crepe.

Came in with my family of 6 on a Friday evening - dining area is pretty small and seating is limited. They do have 3 small, private booth areas, one in which we were seated in.

The waitress was friendly and accommodating, and she helped us with making selections from the menu. We ordered the waffle fries, kimchi fries, sweet and spicy chicken, and original wings.

We didn't have to wait long for the appetizers, and those waffle fries are incredibly crispy! My husband is a big fan of OMGogi fries, and he had to admit that the kimchi fries were much better at Hoodadak.

The fries were very crispy, and the kimchi had a nice tangy, fermented taste. Let's just say... both fries were quickly demolished.

The sweet and spicy chicken flavor is almost reminiscent between Korean spicy noodles and ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes). It wasn't overwhelmingly spicy, and the sweetness was just perfect.

Original chicken was okay. I'd have to say that my family preferred dipping it in the spicy mayo rather than eat it plain. It was incredibly crunchy with lots of skin, but it wasn't enjoyable to eat alone.

Overall experience was pretty great - our waitress always made sure our drinks never went halfway empty, and she was very kind and helpful. Food was delicious - other than the original chicken being a bit 'boring'.

I do need to add - with 4 kids, we had to frequent the bathrooms since they just don't understand when to limit themselves on the drink. I have to highly commend Hoodadak for maintaining a very clean, well kept restroom! It was stylish in a way, no lingering odor, floors were clean, toilet was clean, I mean, it was like a kpop restroom with the standards of Buc-Ee's restrooms!

Trekked out here on a Friday evening and was not disappointed! A group of 5 of us went (was 1 vegetarian) and were seated immediately. There was only a couple of tables open. Browsing through the menu and also with the help of yelp, we decided on the soy garlic wings as well as the hot fried (which was the dry rub, no sauce wings). Along with that, we ordered a regular fries, waffle fries and spicy fries. The fries were very well portioned out and a great munching treat throughout the meal.

The wings came out probably in 15-20 minutes and was piping hot. I was a bit disappointed in the size as they seemed a little smaller than regular wings but they were still fill after 6-7 of them. The hot fried were really good and I think I enjoyed them even better than the soy garlic. They definitely have a kick to them so beware! I was so excited for the soy garlic but I was slightly disappointed as they were not very saucy. The breading soaked up a lot of the sauce but after asking for some extra sauce on the side, it was much better!

They don't have anything for vegetarians (except for fries and miso soup) which is we knew of and is fine, since they are a wine establishment but it was a bit disappointing that they couldn't whip up something like the fried rice that they have on their lunch menu and accommodate.

Overall, pretty happy with the wings! It's not a trek I will commonly do but at the same time, I wouldn't mind it either.
